Requirements to proceed To proceed to part 3 of the BSc Veterinary Nursing To have met the requirements to Pass Part 2 of the BSc overall (above) and to have met the requirements for entry to the RCVS List of Veterinary Nurses before the start of Part 3 of the BSc (See Award & Assessment Regulations for FdSc) 10. 10.1. 10.2 10.3 10.4 10.5 10.6 10.7 Consequences of Failure or Failure to complete A candidate who has successfully completed Part 1 remains eligible for the award of Certificate of Higher Education in Animal Welfare & Care A candidate who achieves 45% or less in any component of the Summer Examination will be required to resit that component. The mark obtained at the second (resit) attempt will be no greater than 50% and will be carried forward to the overall mark. A candidate who achieves between 46 and 49% at the Summer Examination may opt to resit the failed component. The mark obtained at the second (resit) attempt will be no greater than 50% and will be carried forward to the overall mark. A candidate who fails a component after the Summer and Winter Examinations will be required to resit that component excluding any items that have already been taken for the second time. A candidate who fails a component at the first attempt is required to take the resit of the component or relinquish the course. A candidate who fails a component at the second attempt is required to relinquish the course. S/he will have the right of appeal as described in College Regulations. A candidate who is unable to proceed to Part 3 of the BSc after resit has a right of appeal as described in the College Regulations even if s/he meets the requirements to proceed to FdSc.11.Classification The marks obtained from Part 2 contribute 35% of the total marks towards degree classification.12. Disclosure of Marks Results will be published by candidate number.13.Absence and Summative in- course assessment. Where a student has an allowable absence, s/he will be marked absent (A) from a summative assessment and will be required to sit the assessment activity at the next available time An allowable absence is one that is for a significant unforeseeable event such as illness. Any other foreseeable absence will only be considered allowable if agreed by an Academic Progress Committee and this will only apply in very strictly limited circumstances. A student absent for any other reason will be awarded 0 (zero) for the assessment. 14. Late submission of work. Reports, Assignments or Project work submitted after the due deadline will be given a mark of 0 (zero).
