Multiple Choice Questions and Extended Matching Questions The number of marks available for each type of question will be clearly stated on the examination paper. A question left unanswered or deleted by the candidate will score zero. The pass mark for the MCQ examination as a whole will be set according to approved and accepted standard setting protocols, normalised and then scaled. OSPVEs and Spot Test A pass mark will be set for each station. The pass mark for the examination as a whole will be set according to approved and accepted standard setting protocols, including if appropriate a minimum number of stations to be passed, then normalised and scaled. Structured Orals Structured oral examinations will be marked out of a maximum of ten marks with students accumulating marks by answering questions of increasing complexity. Regarding Progression on to the BVetMed A candidate who fails the BVetMed progression requirements at the first attempt, will be permitted one resit opportunity for the BVetMed module assessments. A candidate who fails the BVetMed (G module) examination at the first attempt will be permitted one resit opportunity. A mark of 50% or more is required to enable progression on the BVetMed Degree. If the mark obtained for the BVetMed (Gmodule) examination at the first sitting is between 40 and 49% then this mark will be carried forward to degree classification. If the mark obtained at the first sitting is less than 40%, then the mark carried forward for BSc degree classification purposes will be no more than 40%. A candidate who fails the overall BSc or BVetMed module assessments at the second attempt will be required to relinquish the course of study s/he will have a right of appeal as described in College Regulations.10.
