The College's research is of the highest quality and has an impact on the health and welfare of humans and animals around the world. Expertise in risk analysis and modelling within the Royal Veterinary College mostly resides within the Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics and Public Health group.


International networks

Both institutes have extensive international networks and global responsibilities acting as reference centres for international organisations such as the , the  and . They regularly contribute to capacity building, research and policy advice either directly to national governments, or through international organisations.

As part of their international activities in risk analysis and modelling the hosting institutions have collaborated with partners in government and academia from 57 countries and 140 institutes in recent years. The RVC and APHA have also established links with many of the institutes that are part of other regional collaborating centres (CC), such as the  (CC for Epidemiology and Risk Assessment of Aquatic Animal Diseases) and the Instituto  (CC for Epidemiology, Training and Control of Emerging Avian Diseases) in addition to collaborating centres for risk analysis, modelling and related areas outside of the European region (e.g. ongoing collaboration with  to provide joint training to veterinary services, spanning more than eight years).
